The new McAustin McPartment....

Sorry for the long delay in between the blogs, but we’ve been busy moving into our new apartment. It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have a place of our own in Austin. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s a lot better than C116 Public Storage. At least this apartment has more than one light bulb! The new apartment is in a great area with everything nearby. It has two pools, a fitness center, and tennis courts. It's also really convenient because Madelyn and I both work on opposite sides of town and this apartment falls right in the middle. It took us all of last weekend to move all of our stuff in, but it would have taken a lot longer if my dad had not come in town to help. I left my dad to move our stuff from the storage unit to the apartment on Friday morning, by Friday afternoon I got a call from him telling me he had everything done. I couldn’t believe it! I think I'll just call my dad eveytime we move in the future! It took us the rest of the weekend (and most of this week) just to unpack all of the boxes. We did take a break this week to go out to dinner and a movie for Valentines Day. I took some pictures for the blog, hope you enjoy…

This is the view when you first walk in the door…

This is our dining room, which we had to turn into an office/dining room…

This is our “bar” with the kitchen behind it; unfortunately our kitchen is too small to get a picture…

This is our bedroom, which is a lot bigger in real life…

Here’s another one of the bedroom…

The last picture is of our awesome deck! It faces what the people in Texas call a “canyon”. Madelyn and I get to watch the deer in the woods every morning; it’s pretty awesome to have something like that in the city limits…we are only 10 minutes from downtown (with no traffic).

Come and Visit! We have extra beds!

Awesome! I love it! I can totally see it in my mind - the deck and all. Can't wait to visit.

The main difference about when you guys move into a new place and when John and I move into a new place is that yours looks like home afterward! Seriously- I am amazed at the hard work you invest at the beginning in putting up photos and artwork and actually unpacking!! It pays off because your place looks great! I need to follow your example! I hope you make many happy memories there!

I love it you guys. Nice decorating, very clean too. My house is never that clean, especially when I have just moved in.

Oh my gosh...this is my FIRST time blogging or responding to a blog or whatever I'm doing! I LOVE your place...it looks so cozy and hip. The artwork above the fireplace with your furniture looks awesome. Can't wait to see you in March.

Nice digs...but having grown up with Cody, I'm going to guess that the matermind behind most of the uniquity is Madelyn...I could be wrong. Either way, looks like you're having a great time! Hope all is well!

I'm just wondering, what is Madelyn sitting on in that picture of the bedroom? Is she just pretending to sit on something, but really it's just air?

These pictures are great... but you have since rearranged your living room. :)
