New Bathrooms

As some of you probably already know, we've been remodeling our bathrooms over the summer. It seems like the never ending project... but as of today we're 99.99% done. More importantly, we've gotten to the point where we can post the before and after pictures.

We started in the laundry room which we didn't take any "before" pictures of, but we put in new tile, new baseboards, painted the cabinets, and painted the walls.

Next up was our guest bathroom. We put in subway tile in the shower, put in new tile on the floor, painted the cabinets, got a new mirror, a new light, painted the walls, installed a new toilet, new counter-tops, new sink, and new faucets.

Next up was the master bathroom, we did everything we did in the master.

1.11.2012

This is the date in which our lives will change forever... we'll be bringing home a little Roberts from the hospital! That's right, Madelyn is pregnant!

This is an ultrasound picture from week 9.

The other good news is this blog is about to get a lot more use. Make sure to check back often for progress and eventually lots of baby pictures!

New dog run and people run.

Not much to report from the Austin home front. We chickened out of SXSW this year and only went to go see The Strokes. It was a great show that had a little too much pushing and shoving. After enduring the crowds at The Strokes we opted to stay home for the rest of SXSW.

We fought the crowds with our friends Kelly and Jacob.

In other news, we built a dog run. Long story short, we managed to kill 90% of the grass we planted three years ago. Instead of blaming ourselves, we blamed the dogs. So, we built them a nice dog run so they could stay off of the second round of new sod. We had never built anything from and idea before, but after a lot of measuring and frustration we completed a really good looking dog run. I don't know how happy the dogs are about their new smaller area of the yard... but they're just going to have to get used to it.

In accomplishment news, I finished my first ever 10k. For those of you who have finished marathons this probably doesn't seem like a major feat... but I was pretty happy about it. I finished in 53:08.

That's all for now!

Flaming Lips and Blizzard

We recently went up to Dallas to the Flaming Lips and drove all the way home in a freak Texas snowstorm! It was crazy! Reminded me of the days getting around in Utah... I'm glad I hadn't forgotten my snow driving skills!

Flaming Lips shows are crazy!

New Orleans

At the end of January Madelyn and I went to visit New Orleans. Madelyn had never been there so we thought it would be a good weekend getaway.

Here is Madelyn standing on Royal Street... probably after eating a bengeit. We had at least 4 servings over our 2 days in New Orleans!

We visited the aquarium.

Can't you tell there are fish behind us?

Since we were in New Orleans we thought it would be fun to get our Tarot Cards read. It was pretty interesting... but mainly just fun.

We rode the trolley.

We had a really good weekend... New Orleans is a really amazing city.

Salt Lake Trip

Don't let the lack of blog posts make you think we're not up anything... the opposite is true, we've been so busy we haven't had time to blog about anything! Here are the pictures from our trip back to Salt Lake City over Christmas. This is going to be a quick blog because I'm getting caught up today! Blog craziness!

My sister, brother, and I all went skiing over Christmas at solitude. Here is my sister and brother on the chair lift.

Me and my brother on the top of the mountain!

We spent the day at Madelyn's cabin...

I built the biggest snow cave ever!

Here is a video I shot of everyone coming out of the snowcave. I'm guessing from the video that I sound like that all the time? ugh.

My grandparents were also in town for Christmas so we took the opportunity to take some new family pictures.

This is our 4 generations picture.

My sister and brother at Blue Plate Diner.

We also had a lunch with all of Madelyn's highschool friends.

This is a picture of me and my grandma

At the begging of January Madelyn's cousin Karen came to visit. We had an awesome time!
