Day 9 of the remodel

Just a video....

Day 5, 6, 7 of the remodel, KISS, Rockband, Christmas and more.

Truth is, we took a few days off for Christmas, so only a few small things were done around the house, but after a full work day I can post a new video of progress.... (I had to use a different video uploading service... Blogger was taking too long!)

Our Christmas was crazy. We started out with Christmas Eve in San Antonio, came back to Austin that night, drove to Dallas on Christmas Day to my grandma's house for lunch, then drove an hour across Dallas to my step-grandparents' house, then got back in the car to go back to my Grandma's for the night. We got up the day after Christmas, came back to Austin for 30 minutes to change our clothes and then we went back down to San Antonio for my uncle's engagement party. Needless to say... it was a lot of driving! But we got to see everyone in one swoop!

You would think with all the craziness I would have been snappin' pictures left and right... but I didn't. Because of the last minute change of plans to drive up to Dallas we had no choice but to take our dogs... and my Grandma was very nice to allow them to stay the night. The dogs had a pretty nice spread in the back of the car.

My sister was here for a few days and we got to hang out... should have taken more pictures, but here is a good one of her and Madelyn. Yes, the person on the left is my sister... even though we look nothing alike.

During the Christmas celebrations Madelyn and Cady teamed up on me with the Nerf guns my half brothers had gotten for Christmas... and my mom did what any mother would do... she video taped it:

While I'm waiting for this video to upload (it takes forever), I'll update you on some other happenings...

We started out our December with a nice evening with KISS. No, not a peck on the cheek... the band KISS! We were offered 10 dollar tickets and we were sold! Pyrotechnics, band members flying across the stadium, a guitar that fired rockets... I mean, for 10 dollars, we got our money's worth... even if we only knew 5 songs.

This picture is one in a million... it should be the cover of their next live album.

Jessica and Bobby gettin' their best rock on

Madelyn and I trying... and failing... at looking rock and roll.

Madelyn, Gene Simmons, and Jessica

I want to rock and roll all night.... and PART of everyday. I can't hang with KISS's schedule.

We also threw in a Rockband party in December. We had some new friends who had never played so we threw it together... I was probably the best one we've had so far!

Oh.... and threw in a holiday party with a bunch of Madelyn's work friends! (Kelly and Breanna)

Oh.... and it snowed! In Austin! We were lucky enough to capture this phenomenon on video! It doesn't stick or anything, but it's fun to see!

Thanksgiving!

Since it's Christmas Eve I thought it was about time to put up our Thanksgiving pictures!

We're leaving for my Grandmas house in exactly 5 min, so these pictures are not in order, nor very witty.

This was actually taken as we were leaving for the airport... but lets pretend this was taken on the first day we were there.

All the girls in family 1.0... we're now to 3.0

A visit to Madelyn's grandfather (On her dads side). He's a fan of the jump suit and that couch.

Why do we fly and travel thousands of miles to eat a turkey? Because that Turkey was worth traveling for! Thanks Lacy and the Butterball hotline.

Here's the annual, "Hurry quick, let's take a Christmas picture", picture.

Hanging out with the family....

I don't know what they're drinking, but it involved chucks of fruit....

Lilly and Elly having a snuggle moment... Who needs a Snuggie?

Had a chance to go to a Utah basketball game. Jackson is giving some sort of crazy look.... but hey, there aren't a lot of pictures of us, so I had to post the one I got!

Keri.... Madelyn.... Lunch..

We finally got to meet baby Charlie! Here is Madelyn, Charlie, and Charlie's baby momma, Barbara.

Charlie liked to get right in my face and then scream without opening his mouth. This was entertaining for the both of us.

Elly really wanted to dress exactly like the mannequin in Old Navy... and since it was so adorable, of course, she got exactly what she wanted... the exact outfit the mannequin was wearing. She's found a loophole to getting stuff, it's called "being cute and funny"

We were even treated to a nice snowstorm while we were in Utah! Always fun when that happens.

So, back to that loophole that Elly has found... "Be cute and funny and get what I want". She decided for her birthday she wanted all the women to be dressed as princesses. So... Madelyn's entire family went out in public dressed like princesses.

I don't want to take too much credit... but enough at least to post it on the internet. I went by myself to Toys R Us to pick out a gift for Elly. Let's just say, her reaction was just pure screaming, and from what I've heard she hasn't played with much else since. Best Uncle ever? Maybe...

We got home in time to go cut down the family Christmas tree... which is now sitting in out living room covered in dust.

Alright... I'm off to San Antonio! Christmas blogs and more house blogs coming up!

House Remodel Day 3

Day 3 brought some unexpected surprises. I'm now getting to learn how to pour concrete, and I somehow have to find a way to take out laminate that is underneath tile. Tomorrow should be interesting.

On the plus side I was able to get all of the tile out of the dining room! So, that's a huge win! We are close... yet so far away.

December crazy dog post

I am preparing to write a giant blog post about our recent trip to SLC for Thanksgiving, but in the mean time... it's time for another "crazy dog post". Our friends Heidi and Lorena watched our house for us while we were out, and since Heidi's a professional photographer, she left us when amazing pictures of our dogs.

These are amazing... thanks Heidi!!
