Sorry for the delay in recent blogs, it's been busy at our house. A couple of weeks ago we had the privilege of being invited to one of Texas’ finest dance halls/bowling alleys/social hall… Bexar Hall (if you need a little background see our previous post ..... the pictures below won't make too much sence without it). This time I had my camera and I took some pictures of this south Texas gem for everyone to enjoy. We went for my Great Grandfather's 95 birthday party. It was quite the event…food, drinks and Bunko…… could you ask for anything more?
(This is the Bexar beer tap..... right out of the wall. Who needs a bartender?)
(This is the vague warning sign.... we always laugh at the "21")
On the same weekend we were celebrating my great grandfather's birthday, my other great- grandpa, Adolph “Papa” Hummel, passed away. We spent the end of last week attending the funeral and visiting with family. Although it was a sad event, it was nice to celebrate the life of Papa with all of my relatives.
Over the weekend Madelyn and I decided to take it easy. Friday we went and saw “King Of Kong: Fistful of Quarters”. Madelyn was hesitant to go, the movie was a documentary AND about video games; two of Madelyn’s least favorite things. Luckily it was an awesome movie and I recommend it to everyone, you don’t have to be a video gamer or a nerd to appreciate the movie.
Later that weekend my uncle called me and told me he had ONE extra ticket to the Austin City Limits festival. Madelyn gave up one of the two days a week we get to hang out with each other so that I could go hear some of my favorite bands while she stayed home. The concert rocked, but not as much as my awesome wife for supporting me in spending the day at a concert. I got to see Wilco, Ghostland Observatory, Decemberists, and a little Bob Dylan. It was awesome!
(I wasn't the only one who thought of riding their bike)
(only bands like Wilco and The Decemberists would make me deal with this crowd)

Mad- Looking thinny! (That's a mix between thin and skinny in case you didn't catch it.) Also, I can't believe those bikes. That is wild. Sounds like a lotta fun!
You guys have the coolest relationship...perhaps ever.
I gotta think the phrase "fistful of quarters" at least intrigued madelyn a bit... :)
