We took in another foster dog. This one was special, she was a 2 year old German Shepard mix who I went and picked up hours before she was going to be euthanized. She was the sweetest and calmest dog... we fell in love with her pretty quickly. Because of our friend Lorena she was adopted on her first adoption day! It was extremely satisfying to see a dog that was going to be put down be adopted within 2 weeks.
So here comes my soap box.... ADOPT ANIMALS! They need homes...
Here is a pictures I took of her for the Austin Pets Alive website.
Before I left on my week long business trip Madelyn and I spent the greatest Saturday with our dogs and friends. We took our dogs to the dog park, went to a restaurant that allows dogs, ate lunch outside on a beautiful day under the shade of huge oak trees, went to the adoption site and watched foster dog get adopted, and did a little shopping in the local boutiques on South Congress. It was a great day with our friends and our dogs... they got to come with us all day long! It was great!
Here is Sugar at the restaurant (they even have menu items for dogs!)
I'm really happy we have a group of friends who only slightly make fun of our dog obsession. Here is Jessica (Lorena was there too) and Madelyn at lunch with our dogs.
Austin is so pet friendly, not only can you have lunch with your dog, but you can take them into stores. The dogs loved it because every person who walked in the door wanted to pet them.
It really was the nicest Saturday in recent memory.
P.S. I don't know if any single guys read this blog, but, go adopt a dog. Dogs are magnets for the ladies. Every time I'm with the dogs in public I have women wanting to pet the dogs, asking about them, telling me their so cute.... it's too bad that's all getting wasted on a married guy.

Done! As soon as I live in a place that allows pets, I'm on it. ;)
That's it- I'm moving to Austin. What a great day! Colorado was the similarly dog friendly- there were little stickers in the store windows saying pets were welcome and whenever we went through the Wendy's drive through they always gave us a milkbone for Dixie. My work even had "dog Friday". Oh, how I miss it.
Oh man, I wish we could take our dogs to work. That would be awesome.
That was a fun day! I can't wait until I can adopt a dog.
P.S. You can see my cards on the rack in the last picture!
I love that you love your doggies so much! I think crazy dog people aren't crazy, they're just honest. Most people love their dogs that much but just won't admit it. :)
